Casual Receptionist

  • Supportive and compassionate team
  • Potential to become permanent part-time
  • In the heart of town close to amenities

Due to continued growth, a vacancy exists for a casual receptionist to work in our established private practice. Mullumbimby Psychology is located within a quiet and beautiful space in the heart of town and provides a broad range of psychological services across the lifespan.

The role is a combination of client, data and systems management. You will have the opportunity to manage our numerous data flows and system automations with extensive on-the-job training provided plus self-learning thorough our purpose-built Reception Help Centre. As the face of our business, you will handle new and existing customer enquiries, help our clients feel welcome, answer phones, take payments (including through online automated payment and rebate gateways) and complete a wide range of administrative tasks including Medicare case management. The role also affords opportunities to liaise both verbally and in writing with health professionals and suppliers.

Breakfast from one of the fabulous local cafes is provided at our team meetings. Mullumbimby Psychology provides a great team environment with opportunities for regular connection – like our volunteer work with our charity partner ReForest Now.

The successful applicant ideally has experience in administration, book-keeping and reception; with medical reception experience or graduate qualifications desirable. Most importantly, you need to be able to provide a calming, kind and gentle presence whilst multi-tasking and have plenty of mental horsepower to straddle a diverse role that will keep you learning and growing. You will benefit from working as part of a cohesive, positive and professional team in a busy practice.

You will need strong IT literacy skills as our business has recently implemented significant digital strategies, a high attention to detail, exceptional customer service, mental flexibility to navigate health compliance requirements, written and oral communication skills and organisational skills. Some counselling skills/training is well regarded. We are an equal opportunity employer and support unity in diversity.

Please include a tailored cover letter with your resume addressing the above selection criteria. This position is also advertised on Indeed https://au.indeed.com/job/casual-receptionist-psychology-practice-e3858ff1b69f9d67
