Psychologist Ellie Mackay is experienced in working with clients across the lifespan, and has a special interest in working alongside young people and their families. Ellie has worked across the not-for-profit sector and also school systems in Queensland and NSW. She has considerable experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of conditions including but not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, mood-related disorders, anxiety disorders, poor social skills, trauma/abuse, self-esteem and other emotional and behavioural concerns. Ellie is passionate about capacity building for families and has significant experience in providing support to parents/carers in both the individual and group format.

Ellie is committed to a high level of professionalism which involves ongoing personal and professional development. She is also an author who has published research in academic journals in the field of emotional eating and energy psychology.

Ellie cares deeply about establishing genuine and trusting relationships with her clients and is sensitive to recognising and meeting the individual needs of each person. She often works with clients to create a shared awareness of the origins of an issue and supports people move toward healing and change by integrating evidence-based techniques with a holistic, creative, and strengths-based therapeutic approach. Ellie is trained and experienced in various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness.


Ellie has a Bachelor of Arts (Performance Studies/Psychology) from the University of Sydney, Bachelor of Psychological Studies (First Class Honours) from Bond University, and a Master of Psychology (Clinical) from Bond University. Ellie is a Clinical Psychologist. She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
