Psychologist Maria Burke has more than 10 years experienced working with clients in variety of clinical settings. She has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, couples and families in indigenous and non-indigenous communities.

Maria has considerable experience in the treatment of a wide range of conditions including but not limited to mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosis, personality disorders, trauma, relationship issues, adjustment issues and grief and loss.

Maria utilises a collaborative, client centered approach and tailor interventions to suit individual needs and strengths. Her practice is informed by a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness Based approaches, Motivational Interviewing, Compassion Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.

Maria truly enjoys connecting with clients and is passionate about working alongside them to overcome and grow from life’s challenges. She prides herself on her ability to provide a warm, supportive and nonjudgmental environment to assist clients to develop self-awareness, expand on skills, achieve goals and improve their wellbeing.


Maria has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Social Psychology from University of Ulster, Ireland; a Masters of Science in Abnormal and Clinical Psychology from the University of Wales and a Graduate Diploma of Mental Health Science from Monash University Melbourne.
