Psychologist Michaela Killips has a broad range of experience working with individuals across the lifespan, groups and organisations to support wellbeing and growth.

Michaela is also developing her expertise in the area of Nature Connectedness and welcomes opportunities to support groups in this area.

As an area of interest, Michaela provides primary and secondary supervision for provisional psychologists completing the 4+2 and 5+1 provisional pathways,  registration from overseas pathway as well as for those already registered as psychologists. Michaela also provides mentoring and business consulting to psychologists and health practitioners running their own practices.

In terms of background, Michaela is experienced in working with adults and adolescents, individuals and groups across a broad range of issues including depression, post-natal depression, anxiety, grief, parenting and relationships difficulties, workplace issues, self esteem and trauma. Michaela is best known by her clients for her deep level of empathy and genuine care and concern. Michaela uses a client focused integrative model of therapy working closely with clients to expand their understanding of issues, harness clients’ strengths and subsequently tailor solutions. Michaela continues to complete regular professional development keeping her skills current. Prior to becoming a psychologist she had a successful career in the corporate arena at a national level and cofounded a now well established international children’s charity.

Qualifications

Michaela has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from the University of Queensland, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (e-Commerce) from Macquarie University’s Graduate School of Management, a Masters of Health Science (Behavioural Science) from the University of Sydney and a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training. Michaela is a psychology board accredited supervisor, accredited return to work coordinator and accredited WorkCover and Victim Services psychologist.

Michaela is a Registered Psychologist and is a Member of the Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPi), Member of the AAPi Ecopsychology group and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
